CHIBAMBA KANYAMA WRITES…ALWAYS GOING BUT NEVER ARRIVIN

Saw this car coming and overtake me at very high speed and yet ahead of it, traffic lights were red with much traffic waiting for the green signal. The driver reduced speed from nearly 120 km/hour within meters to zero. To me, that seemed to be speed without purpose!

Reminded me of people who are always studying, churning out degree after degree but never arriving; men who are always in the company of women but never marrying; buying car after car without knowing why they are buying them; employees who are year after year ever working, never going for lunch and knocking off at 21.00 daily but no promotion.

The Apostle Paul reminded young Timothy to look out for busy people who always seem zealous of the gospel but going nowhere; at times always the first at church but directionless, goalless, never changing and destructive, ‘Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.’ 2 Tim 3:7.

But those under the anointing of God are never aimless; every movement made is purposeful and with clear direction. Jesus made His intent very clear early in life. When you are clear about what you want to get out of life, nothing can stop you, ‘“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,’ LK 4:18.

Have a great day and remember to talk, walk and listen with purpose! The world rewards those who know what to take out of it!
