… Zambians should only support political alliance with purpose to serve them
Lusaka…. Tuesday May 11, 2021
Advocacy for National Democracy and Development (ANDD) says the newly formed political alliance is driven by bitterness, frustrations, jealous and envy and there should not be supported.
Organization Executive Director Samuel Banda says his organization believes that political alliances in the democratic dispensation must be promoted.
Mr. Banda emphasizes that a political alliance driven by developmental ideals and purpose to serve the interest and aspirations of Zambians must be supported.
“However as advocates of development and democracy, we wish to state that we have keenly observed the new alliance of HH, KBF, Mutati and the other grouping. Our conclusion is that it is driven by greed, frustration, envy and jealousy with no clear direction nor tangible development agenda. As such we urge Zambians to be cautious and not support such an alliance,” he indicated.
“An alliance of political parties should involve the integration of all the different party manifestos to come up with one that clearly defines the objectives of the alliance and what they are offering the electorate. In the case of the HH, KBF and Mutati alliance we do not see any evidence of an integrated manifesto, nor a plan for the country should they win other than mere rhetoric.”
He stated that alliances cannot deliver results if they are merely based on personalities with no actionable plans.
“Zambians should be weary of such groupings as they have the potential to sell the country to satisfy their insatiable appetite for wealth,” he added.
